Description

This barn, located about 80 meters northeast of Marden Hill House, dates from the late 18th century. It features a timber frame set on a red brick base laid in English bond, with weatherboarding and a half-hipped tiled roof. The structure consists of five bays and has a central gabled midstrey that faces the house. There are large double doors in the central bay on both sides. Inside, the barn has arched braces connecting jowled posts to straight tie beams, angled struts that clasp the lower purlins, collars that clasp the upper purlins, and tension braces in the walling.
