Description
This is an early to mid-17th century house, now divided into two dwellings. It has undergone additions in the 18th and 19th centuries, particularly to the rear. The house has a timber frame construction, built on a red brick base and plastered externally. It is topped with a tiled roof. Originally it comprised three bays, with a plank door set within a simple moulded doorcase on the right-hand side, flanked by two-light, small-pane casement windows in flush frame surrounds. A similar door and window arrangement is on the left-hand side. The first floor contains one and two-light casement windows. The roof has sprocket eaves. A cross axial stack behind the ridge, to the left of the centre, features 17th-century brick with a later capping. Gable end windows are one and two-light casements, with exposed plates and purlins. The rear of the house incorporates 18th and 19th-century additions; a one-storey and attic wing in the centre and a wing to the right, both featuring two-light, small-pane casements and hipped roofs, with a hipped dormer in the centre. An external brick stack is present. A 19th-century gabled block projects from the rear left side. The interior has not been inspected.
