Description
The Old Bakery comprises two houses dating from the early 18th century, with later 19th and 20th century extensions. The houses are built of red brick, which has been whitewashed. They have a tiled roof. The front has five windows, divided into two builds. The houses are two storeys high with an attic. On the ground floor, there are panelled doors recessed within moulded surrounds, centrally located on each house, flanked by recessed 16-pane sash windows. A plat band runs along the first floor, above which are five two-light, small-pane flush frame casements. All openings have cambered heads, and the eaves are coved. Four gabled dormers, each with two lights and small-pane casements, are visible in the attic. Moulded kneelers are present on the gable end parapets. An internal brick stack is located on the right-hand end. The rear windows are a mix of casements, with a stack positioned at the centre. A 19th-century red brick wing extends from the rear of No. 16, while a 20th-century stuccoed wing projects from the rear of No. 18. The interiors have not been inspected.
