Description
Tewinbury Farm House is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century, which was altered and re-roofed in the 19th century and extended around 1900. The building is constructed of red brick, with some areas stuccoed, and features a hipped slate roof with tiles on the dairy section. It has five bays and is two storeys high.
On the ground floor, there are entrances in the second and fourth bays, which have recessed panelled doors topped with shaped bracketed hoods. The central bay features a 19th-century canted bay window with sash windows arranged in an 8:16:8 pattern and a slate head. To the left is a three-light small pane casement, and to the right is a tripartite sash, both of which are recessed with cambered heads.
The first floor has a central four-light small pane casement, with a similar three-light window to the left and a tripartite sash to the right, with blind openings between them, all having cambered heads. The eaves are boxed, and there are cross axial ridge stacks over the second and fourth bays.
To the right, there is a three-bay return that is stuccoed, featuring a ground floor flat-roofed addition from around 1900 with canted bay windows flanking an entrance. The first floor has outer tripartite sashes with a small window between, all with cambered heads. At the rear, there is a one-bay section to the left with a hipped roof and sashes, with a blind window on the first floor. To the right, there is a lean-to over the lower two storeys with 20th-century casements.
Attached to the left end and set back slightly is a dairy outbuilding, which has a plank door and a two-light small pane metal casement, along with a stack on a half-hipped tiled roof and weatherboarding in the left end gable. The interior has not been inspected.
