Description

The building is a stable block with an attached granary, located 25 meters northwest of the house at Castlebury. The granary dates from the 18th century, while the stable is from the 19th century. The structure features hitch patent bricks, painted at the front, with a wing wall that conceals a timber-framed granary, which is dark weatherboarded and set on stone stadels. Both sections have steep slate hipped roofs.

The stable block is a formal, symmetrical two-storey building facing south. It has a central segmental arched recess with a drip mould. To the right, there are double doors leading to the coach house, and to the left, a sash window serves the tack room. The upper floor features a central hay-door with a segmental arch, flanked by sash windows with 4/8 panes on each side. Set back on the left, a screen wall leads to the granary, which has a segmental arch above a boarded door. The lower part of the wall is arched, and there are four 3-stadle stones supporting the single-storey 16th-century granary behind.
