Description

Tudor Cottage is a house dating from the late 15th century or early 16th century, with a northern wing added in the 19th century and an extension to the rear completed in the 1970s. The building features a timber frame that is plastered, and it has steep roofs covered with old red tiles. The original structure includes a small former open hall and a two-storey northern crosswing, while the northern wing has one and a half storeys. The western wing, which matches the original materials, is also one and a half to two storeys high and was added in the 1970s. A floor was inserted in the hall during the 17th century, and there is an internal gable chimney on the southern side, likely from the early 18th century. The main facade faces east, showcasing a jettied gabled wing that projects to the right of the centre. The older part of the building features a gabled two-light dormer at the eaves, with a two-light flush casement window below it that has a dripboard supported by shaped brackets. A former doorway in the angle beside the projecting wing has been converted into a two-light window with a similar dripboard. The crosswing's jetty is supported by angle brackets and bull-nosed joists, with a similar two-light window on the upper floor and a three-light window below it in the right-hand part of the building.
