Description

Farm buildings, likely dating to the 17th century or earlier, with a stable added around 1900. At the north end is a timber-framed barn with weatherboard cladding on a brick base, projecting into a moat. It has a steep corrugated asbestos roof and five bays, featuring a gabled porch in the middle of the west side with an overhanging gable supported by brackets, and double doors on the east side. The barn has jowled posts and heavy braces to tie beams.

Attached at the northeast is a stable with a red brick rear wall rising from the moat and a red brick east gable. The south front is weatherboarded, with four stable doors, and has a red tile roof with bargeboards and half-timbering above the collar at the gable. Four gabled dormers are positioned over the doors, each with small-paned windows leading to a loft. Along the ridge are three small square louvres with lead pagoda roofs and knobs, the central one being larger.

A two-storey, 17th-century red brick building, with timber-framed and weatherboarded front and upper parts of the end walls, adjoins the barn to the south, all under a steep corrugated asbestos roof. The irregularly bonded rear wall features an offset. Connected to this building on the south is a lower, single-storey, 17th-century red brick square stable with an old red tile roof, half-hipped on the south side over a timber-framed half-gable. A heavy doorframe and a blocked doorway are present on the east side. A chamfered plinth is set offset.

The buildings form a picturesque group, enclosing the moated forecourt of the house on the west and northwest.
