Description

Bourne Cottage is a house dating from the 18th century or earlier. It is timber-framed and plastered, with a steep roof covered in old red tiles. A central chimney rises from the roof. The two-storey house faces north, situated beside an intermittent stream. There are lean-to extensions with tiled roofs to the rear and west end. A small gabled brick porch is located on the east side of the house. It contains a small two-light flush casement window to the upper floor on the right, and two windows to the ground floor. A small paned Yorkshire sliding casement window is present in the rear porch, along with a two-light, flush casement window towards the west. The house is described as picturesque, located next to Overhill House. Internally, exposed timber framing indicates that the house was originally single-storey and has since been heightened.
