Description

Larkeshill is a house dating from the late 17th century. It has a timber frame that is plastered and features a steep thatched roof, along with small red tiled extensions. The building is a long T-shaped structure facing north, consisting of a single storey with attics. It is designed as a three-unit central chimney house, with the entrance located away from the chimney and an external gable stack at one end. The front has six windows and a vertical boarded gabled enclosed porch made of red tiles near the middle. The windows are two-light flush casements. There are also two gabled thatched dormers on the wallplate in the middle and western part of the house. Inside, there is said to be a surviving wattle-and-daub smokehood.
