Description

The Old East Block of Wareside Primary School is a school building that has been converted into residential use. It was built in 1843, as indicated by the relief letters on the plastered east gable. The structure features exposed timber framing with plaster infill, a tall red brick plinth, and an old red tile roof. It is one and a half storeys high and has an L-plan layout with a gabled porch at the angle. A tall red brick chimney with four octagonal shafts is aligned along the roof. The building showcases many purlins and a central pendant supporting the verge overhang, along with decorative quadrant bracing timbers. The windows are small paned cast iron casements, with two 2-light windows in the upper part of the east gable and a larger 4-light window on the ground floor.
