Description
Hopkyn's Hoo is a house dating from the early to mid 17th century. It features a timber frame resting on a brick base, with a rendered and weatherboarded exterior and a thatched reed roof. The house consists of two small cells and has a lobby entry, with one storey and an attic. The central entrance has a six-panelled door with upper glazing, flanked by slightly recessed two-light small pane casements that have small hoodboards above them. There are two-light small pane gabled dormers with 19th-century shaped bargeboards, and decorative thatching along the ridge. The central ridge stack has been rebuilt. The right end of the house is weatherboarded, while the left end features weatherboarding on the ground floor with small pane single-light casements. At the rear, there is a catslide roof over a continuous lean-to outshut, which includes a door and small single-light casements. The interior has not been inspected.
