Description
Poplar Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with extensions from the 18th or 19th century and alterations made in the 20th century. The structure features a timber frame on a brick base and is rendered. It has a steeply pitched thatched roof and follows a two-cell lobby entry plan, consisting of one storey and an attic. The central entrance is located in a projecting tiled porch addition. On either side of the entrance are two-light small pane flush frame casements with hoodboards. There is a dormer with eyebrow thatching on the right side, and to the far right, the roof is hipped over a one-storey outshut addition that has a small window at the front. The left end has a half hipped design with two-light casements and exposed plates. A central ridge stack features a rebuilt cap. At the rear, there is an oven projection with 20th-century casements. The interior has not been inspected.
