Description
Church Cottage is a house dating from the mid to late 17th century, with extensions from the 18th or 19th century. It features a timber frame on a brick base, which is rendered, and has half hipped thatched roofs. The building consists of three bays and is one storey with an attic, along with a two-bay, one-storey addition on the left side. The entrance is located in a 20th-century tiled lean-to porch on the left. The central window is a three-light flush frame 20th-century lattice casement, and there are two three-light dormers with eyebrow thatching. A cross axial ridge stack is positioned to the right of the center. The two-bay addition on the left has two-light lattice casements. The right end facing the road is weatherboarded and includes a ground floor two-light lattice casement and an attic two-light casement, with exposed plates. The left end features a 20th-century external stack, while the rear is rendered. Inside, the cottage has exposed framing with axial and cross axial stop-chamfered bearers and tension bracing.
