Description
Number 1 (Kirk Cottage) and Number 2 Town House Cottages are two dwellings, which were once three, likely built in the late 17th century and restored in 1971. The cottages feature a timber frame that is rendered, topped with a steeply pitched tiled roof. They have a four-window range and are one storey with an attic. There are two entrances, each with brackets supporting gabled heads. The windows consist of small pane flush frame horizontal sliding sashes, with a casement window to the right, all having hoodboards. There are three horizontal sliding sash dormers with raking heads. The main stack is located at the left end and is part of the Town House, while a rebuilt axial ridge stack is positioned to the right of the centre. The right end is half hipped with exposed plates and features a horizontal sliding sash window on the ground floor. The rear has similar dormers, and there are flat-roofed 20th-century additions. The interior has not been inspected. These cottages are included for their group value.
