Description
Cannons Cottage is a house that was once two dwellings, dating from the early to mid 17th century and altered in the 20th century. It features a timber frame construction that is rendered and partially weatherboarded, with asbestos tiles covering its steeply pitched half hipped roof. The building has a two-cell lobby entry plan and is one storey with an attic.
There are two central plank doors, with the right door featuring a small rectangular fanlight above it. The outer windows are three-light small pane flush frame casements with hoodboards. The original cross axial ridge stack is located at the center and has two conjoined diagonal shafts. The left end of the cottage is weatherboarded and includes an attic two-light casement with exposed plates. The right end has a 19th-century external stack and a two-light attic casement towards the rear, along with a 20th-century lean-to outshut. The rear of the cottage has 20th-century casements. Inside, some of the framing is exposed.
