Description
Keeper's Cottage is a house that was once two dwellings, dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century, with a 20th-century extension. The building has a timber frame that has been extended in brick and is rendered. It features a steeply pitched tiled roof and was originally designed with a three-bay lobby entry. The cottage is two storeys high, with the original central entrance now blocked. The flanking bays have flush frame small pane casements. At the center of the ridge, there is an original red brick multiform stack. An entrance porch has been added to the right end, which includes an attic casement. There is a catslide roof over a continuous lean-to outshut at the rear. To the left, there is a 20th-century one-storey and attic two-bay addition with a gable on the left front. Inside, the cottage features exposed framing and stop-chamfered axial binding beams on the ground floor.
