Description
Hazeldene is a house located in Hertingfordbury, dating from the early 17th century, with extensions and alterations made in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame that is rendered, with a brick base and a tiled roof. Originally, it had a two-cell lobby entry, which has been extended to the left and to the rear. The house is two storeys high and includes a 20th-century gabled porch at the center, leading to a six-panelled door. On either side and on the first floor, there are three-light small pane flush frame casements. The axial multiform ridge stack has been partly rebuilt. The right end of the house shows exposed purlins, with a ground floor lean-to outshut that has two-light casements, and a first floor three-light casement. To the left, a 20th-century bay has replaced an earlier dairy and is slightly set back, featuring three-light casements. There is also a 20th-century stack at the left end. Two wings extend to the rear of the house. The interior has not been inspected.
