Description

A pair of estate cottages dating from the early 19th century, built for the 5th Earl Cowper of Panshanger. The cottages are constructed of red brick with a hipped slate roof. Each cottage is three bays wide, with central entrances featuring open trellised porches and wavy bargeboards. Ground floor windows are two-light leaded pane casements with gauged brick flat arched heads. The first floor has a blind central bay, flanked by smaller two-light leaded pane casements. A central red brick ridge stack is present, along with a later external stack on the left return. The right return has an entrance within a porch. A weatherboarded lean-to outshut is located at the rear left. The interior remains uninspected.
