Description
The Cottage is a house dating from the late 15th century or early 16th century, with a stack inserted and flooring added between the late 16th century and mid 17th century. It has been altered and extended in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame with a brick plinth and is rendered. The roof is tiled, with machine tiles on the rear. Originally, it had a two-bay open hall, which has been modified to include a lobby entry, and a one-bay extension was added to the right in the 20th century. The Cottage has one storey and an attic, with a gabled porch and an entrance located to the left of centre. It includes 20th-century flush frame three-light casements and one gabled dormer. The early brick ridge stack is multiform. The interior features chamfered bearers on the ground floor and cambered tie beams.
