Description

The churchyard wall and steps located to the north of the Church of St. Margaret of Antioch were built in 1871 by W. Butterfield. The wall runs along the road and is constructed of flint with brick and stone dressings. It stands between 1 to 2 metres high and features red brick pilaster strips along with a cogged course at the top, which is finished with segmental brick coping. The corner piers are stone dressed and have moulded heads, while the return walls to the steps are topped with triangulated coping. This structure is included for its group value with the church.
