Description

This milestone, dating from the 18th century, was erected for the Watton Turnpike Trust. It is made of white freestone and has a low square shape, measuring about 400 millimeters on each side and standing at half a meter high, although it is partly buried. The milestone features an incised '24', indicating that it is 24 miles to London.
