Description

This is a milestone located about 15 meters east of No. 138 High Street in Watton-at-Stone. It dates from the mid-18th century and was erected by the Watton Turnpike Trust. The milestone is made of white freestone and stands approximately 1.5 meters high with a low square shape and a rounded top. The front face features a painted inscription that reads '26 MILES FROM LONDON'. No. 138 is not listed as a heritage site.
