Description
The Old Barn and Outhouse at Number 19 is a pair of barns located in Braughing village, dating from the 17th century and altered in the late 20th century. The barns are constructed with a timber frame and are weatherboarded, featuring steep thatched roofs. The eastern barn has a half-hipped roof, while the western barn has a hipped roof on the west side. The two small barns are positioned side-by-side, facing north, with the western barn being taller and having double doors along with one window. The eastern barn has been converted into a one and a half storey house, which includes two eyebrow dormers in the roof slope, two small casement windows in the eastern gable, and a larger casement window beside the plank door, which is sheltered by a tiled porch. This picturesque group is included for its group value with Number 19.
