Description

Number 15 is a house and shop located in Braughing village, dating from the early to mid-19th century. The building is constructed of yellow stock brick, with the rear wall being timber framed and weatherboarded. In front, there is a raised pavement with a stock brick revetment wall. The low-pitched slate roof covers a deep double-pile plan building that faces east and has two chimneys on each side.

The building is two storeys high and includes a cellar. The symmetrical rear elevation features three flush box sash windows with 8/8 panes, and a central door above a lower stair window, which is a six-panel flush beaded door. The street-facing front has corner pilasters and three first-floor windows. The recessed sash windows have a combination of 8/8, 6/6, and 8/8 panes, all set under flat gauged arches.

On the ground floor, there is a large 8/8 paned window on the left, while the rest of the space was originally occupied by an early 19th-century shopfront. This shopfront features a three-light mullioned shop window flanked by fluted pilasters and includes six-panel doors, topped with a full entablature. Additionally, there is a slate and brick lean-to shop with a three-light window at the northern end.
