Description
The barn at Noah's Ark Farm is a structure dating from the 18th century or early 19th century. It features a timber frame that is weatherboarded and topped with a slate roof. This tall, five-bay barn has no aisles and faces west, with a central projecting gabled porch. There are double doors and low double doors located at the rear, along with lean-to extensions on either side of the porch. The barn includes unjowled posts and long curved braces supporting the tie beams. Inside, it has queen-post trusses with one purlin and staggered mid-height rails. The porch is detailed with knee-braces at the doorway and angle ties at the outer corners. The barn is included for its group value with other nearby structures.
