Description
24 Baldock Street is a house that has been converted into commercial premises. It has origins from the 17th century but underwent significant alterations in the 19th century, particularly with the creation of a carriageway leading to The Old Bulls Head yard, which is adjacent on the left side. The front of the building is finished in stucco with masonry detailing and features a wide eaves cornice and an old tiled roof. The structure has two storeys.
On the first floor, there is one flush set sash window with divided glazing. The ground floor showcases a 19th-century shopfront that includes a cornice and a fascia with cut moulded profiled ends, along with a closed plate glass shop window that has moulded mullions. To the right, there is a modern half-glazed door that is framed with an architrave surround resting on plinth blocks, topped with a flat moulded cornice hood supported by cut profiled brackets.
At the rear, the elevation features double gables, with the right-hand gable now positioned above the carriageway leading to The Old Bulls Head. A tall central red brick chimneystack is located between the gables. There is also a single-storey 19th-century rear outshoot with a slated roof.
