Description
Amberton Cottage is a house, originally a pair of cottages, dating from the mid-19th century. It features painted render and a peg-tile roof. The design is in the 'cottage ornee' style, consisting of two parallel gabled ranges that are two stories high, with a lower rear block that has a hipped end and is positioned at right angles to the main structure. This rear block includes a lean-to porch at its entrance. A central cruciform stack is present, and each gable has a diamond leaded light casement window on the first floor, situated above a canted leaded light bay window with a hipped roof. The elaborate bargeboards are decorated with arch braces and apex pendant finials. In front of the cottage, there are simple iron railings that are contemporary to the building.
