Description
The Stag Public House is a public house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is timber framed with a painted brick front and sides. The building has two storeys and features gabled peg tile roofs, gable end stacks, and an off-centre ridgeline stack. The front elevation includes four double hung sash windows with small panes, a string course above three tripartite double hung sash windows with small panes, and two entrance doors, one of which has a flat hood supported by brackets. There is a single storey later extension at the west end, which has a gabled peg tile roof and decorative ridge, constructed of painted brickwork with a central tripartite double hung sash window. At the rear, there is a red brick lean-to extension with a slate roof and a mid-19th century cast iron yard pump against the wall.
