Description
School Cottage is a house that was originally a pair of cottages, built in the mid-19th century. It is attached to former stables and features walls made of flint with brick banding and brick dressings. The roof is slate and has ornamental bargeboards, with a central brick chimney stack. The building is one storey high with an attic. The main front has a twin gabled projection in the center. Each end section has a ledged door with cover fillets, topped by an elliptical brick arch and sheltered by a slate pentice on brackets. The ground floor includes two casement windows with diamond cast iron glazing, set under gauged brick arches, and there are two similar windows in the attic gables, giving the cottage a picturesque appearance.
