Description
Green Walk is a detached house dating from the 18th century. It appears to have been constructed in two phases and may originally have been two cottages. The building features plastered cob walls and a thatched roof, with one plastered stack at the left end and one brick stack near the right end. It is one storey high with an attic and has an L-shaped plan. A rear wing at the right end is linked to a former outbuilding, which is made of cob and slate and runs parallel to the main range. The space between these structures is filled with a 20th-century flat-roofed block.
In the main range, there are two part-glazed panelled doors, with the one near the right end featuring Gothic style glazing. The ground floor has two casement windows with Gothic style glazing and lead lights. The attic includes three dormers with casements that also have lead lights. The left gable wall is buttressed, and the roof is extended in the center to form a canopy.
Internally, the main ground floor room has a large open fireplace with a timber lintel and a bread oven. This house is the only surviving structure from the former town of Milton Abbas.
