Description
The entrance gates and gatepiers to Milton Abbey, located 240 meters north of Milton Abbey School, date from the late 18th century. They consist of a pair of ashlar stone piers featuring moulded plinths and caps, which are topped with blocking courses. Both the inner and outer faces of the piers are adorned with carved swags and flowers. The gates themselves are fairly plain iron, with fleurs de lys finials on the uprights.
