Description

Walls, gate piers, and a gate dating from the 1840s. These elements mark the entrance to Pilton Abbey from Bull Hill. The walls are constructed of purple ashlar and curve inwards to meet two octagonal gate piers topped with shallow pyramidal caps. A timber lattice gate, fitted with strap hinges and a shaped finial, is hung from one of the gateposts.
