Description

Lake Lodge is a detached cottage, likely dating from the mid-19th century, and originally served as a lodge to a park. Constructed of brick with a hipped thatched roof, the property is built in a cottage orné style. It is a single-storey building. A projecting porch features a cropped gabled thatched roof and half-timbering to the gable, supported by oak posts, and contains a part-glazed door. To the left of the porch, a casement window with glazing bars is present. A rectangular oriel window with casements and glazing bars, topped with a hipped thatched roof, is situated to the right of the porch. The main roof extends to form a verandah, supported by rustic pole supports, featuring a semi-octagonal bay window with casement windows and glazing bars. A lean-to extension is located at the right end. The building is described as picturesque.
