Description
Calmesden Cottage is a late 16th-century cottage located on the south side of Gallows Green in Great Easton. The building is timber framed and plastered with a thatched roof featuring two eyebrow dormers. It has old iron casements with rectangular leaded lights and a centrally positioned door. Two gable-end stacks are constructed of red brick, and there is a peg tile-roofed lean-to on the west end. The interior shows evidence of a small, original open hall house, comprising two bays, with arched compression braces.
