Description

This early 19th-century house and shop is located on the west side of North Street in Great Dunmow. The building has a timber frame and plastered exterior, with three distinct gabled roof ridges covered in peg tiles, the central section featuring 19th-century crested ridge tiles. The southern block features three double-hung sash windows on the first floor above a 20th-century door and a rebuilt shopfront with small panes, flanked by matching double-hung sash windows. The taller northern block has similar double-hung sash windows and a tripartite sash window above a 20th-century door, with matching tripartite sash windows to either side. Three stacks are positioned behind the roof ridges. The building is included on the heritage list primarily for its contribution to the character of the area.
