Description

A pair of early 19th century houses and shops. The buildings are timber-framed and have been plastered, with a gabled slate roof. Four stacks are located behind the ridge line. The houses are two storeys high, with four double-hung sash windows on the first floor, featuring small panes and moulded surrounds. On the ground floor, from south to north, there are two canted bay windows with hipped felt roofs and no glazing bars, framing an early 19th century doorcase with simple pilasters, a flat hood, and a rectangular fanlight. This is followed by a flat-headed carriageway with doors, a canted shop window bay, a similar doorcase with an original six-panel door, an altered doorcase, and a double-hung sash window with small panes at the north end.
