Description
This is an early 19th-century house located on the west side of Churchgate Street. The building is timber-framed and clad in weatherboards, following a rectangular plan. It has two chimney stacks, one at each end, and a ridged, gabled roof covered with peg-tiled eaves. The first storey features small-paned sash windows in exposed boxes. There is a matching sash window on the ground storey at the south. The front door consists of six fielded panels, topped with a broken pediment supported by reeded half columns, but lacks a fanlight. A similar door is located to the north, and a large, square former shop window with small panes is also visible, along with a name board above it. A two-storey extension to the north has a slated roof and a central red brick chimney stack. Four leaded casements, with a two-over-two window design, and a plain door set in a case are on the south side of the extension. The walls of the extension are painted weatherboards.
