Description

The Downs is a cottage dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is timber-framed and has been plastered, with a half-hipped thatched roof featuring a small ridge stack slightly off-centre. An eyebrow dormer is visible in the west-facing roof slope, alongside a 20th-century thatched porch and small 20th-century casement windows in original openings. A section of the south wall is brick. A 20th-century extension, with a slate gabled roof and white weatherboarding, is attached to the north end. The cottage is described as picturesque.
