Description
31 and 32 The Downs are a pair of semi-detached cottages built in the early 19th century. They are timber framed and plastered, topped with a slate gabled roof. The cottages are two storeys high and share a party wall, featuring a ridge line stack. On the first floor, there are two double-hung sash windows with small panes and one 20th-century sash window. The ground floor has an overhang at the west end, which is supported by an octagonal timber post, and includes two doorcases with flat hoods on scroll brackets. The early 19th-century sash windows are present, but the ground floor of No. 32 has a four-light 20th-century casement window.
