Description
No. 17 North Street is a house and shop dating from the early 19th century. It features a timber frame with plaster and slate gabled roofs, designed in an "H" plan form that runs at right angles to the street. The building has multiple red brick stacks and stands two storeys tall. The street-facing side has three double-hung sash windows on the first floor, each with moulded surrounds and margin glazing bars. The ground floor showcases a mid-19th century shopfront, which includes a recessed entrance, scroll brackets, and arched 'V' shaped mullions. This property is primarily noted for its group value.
