Description
No. 33 on The Downs is a house dating from the late 17th century. It is timber framed and plastered, topped with a gabled peg tile roof. The building has two storeys and features a large, central red brick chimney stack at the ridgeline. On the first floor, there are four double hung sash windows with moulded surrounds and margin glazing bars. The ground floor includes a nearly central timber trellis porch with a hipped roof, above which is an unusual pedimented porch roof adorned with a large ball finial. Flanking the porch are canted bay windows, each with hipped roofs, along with a single similar double hung sash window on either side. Inside, some timber framing is exposed.
