Description

These are a pair of semi-detached cottages located on the north side of The Downs in Great Dunmow. They date from the early 19th century and are timber-framed with plaster infill, featuring a slate gabled roof. The cottages are two storeys high and have a party wall ridge-line stack. The first floor has three double-hung sash windows; one has moulded surrounds and small panes, while the others are 20th-century replacements. On the ground floor, there is a porch supported by posts at the western end, two doorcases with flat hoods on scroll brackets, two 20th-century sash windows, and one original window with small panes.
