Description
27 and 29 North Street is a house and shop built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with a painted plaster front. The building is two stories tall and features a slate gabled roof with two red brick chimneys located behind the ridge line.
On the first floor, there are three double hung sash windows with small panes and segmental heads, with the center window being narrower than the others. The central entrance has a pilastered doorcase, a flat hood, and a panelled frieze, along with the original four-panel door and a fanlight above it. To the south, there is a contemporary shopfront that includes a cornice or hood, pilasters, and a fanlight over the entrance door. The shopfront also features deep 'V' shaped mullions and a panelled stallriser. To the north, there is a single double hung sash window similar to those on the first floor.
