Description

This barn or outbuilding, located 12 metres northeast of Cannons, dates from the late 16th century. It features black weatherboarding and a black corrugated iron roof, with an extension at the northeast end that has a pantiled lean-to roof. The structure consists of three bays supported by jowled posts and queen posts, which hold side purlins that are wind braced in the central bay. Internally, heavy wall braces are prominent, reflecting the south west Essex style of the time. The barn is included in the register mainly for its group value.
