4/65 Barn 12 metres north east of Cannons

GV II

Barn or outbuilding. Late C16. Black weatherboarded with a black corrugated iron roof. An extension at the north east end has a pantiled lean-to roof. Of 3 bays with jowled posts and queen posts, supporting side purlins which are wind braced in the central bay. Internal heavy wall braces are proud of the wall studs, in the south west Essex fashion of the day. Included mainly for group value.
