TL 51 NE HATFIELD BROAD OAK

4/25 Wises 24/10/79 GV II

House. C16. Timber framed and plastered with half hipped pegtile roof. Of one storey and attics with 3 hipped dormers on the north side and C20 small pane casements. Large off-centre stack of early C17 with moulded brick capping to stack base. C20 lower extension with half-hipped roof end, to west with C20 diamond mullion window in gable. Internally the frame is exposed showing a 3 bay plan with jowled posts, arch braces to tie beams, curved internal wall bracing and halved and bridled scarf joints. The inserted floor beams rests on decorative blocks dated 1649. RCHM 29.
