Description

This is a pump located immediately in front of Whiteheads, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features a cast iron handle. The barrel has moulded rings and a wider section at the top with vertical fluting. It has an ogee profile cap and a horizontal spout. A maker's plaque is inscribed with 'Appleby & Co. Renishaw Iron Works, Chesterfield'.
