Description
This barn, located approximately 25 metres southeast of Barnston House, dates back to around 1600. It features a timber frame and is weatherboarded, with some cement render on the northeast end. The roof is covered with corrugated iron. The structure consists of five bays and has two midstreys on the southeast side. Originally, it had an aisle on the northwest side, but this has now been infilled below the arcade plate. Large doors have been inserted into the southwest end. The barn includes jowled posts and cambered tiebeams with arched braces. The roof has been rebuilt to a lower pitch than its original design.
