Description

A small lobby-entrance house dating to the 17th century, with a 20th-century extension. The house is timber-framed and weather-boarded, with a thatched roof. It consists of three bays, including a chimney bay, aligned northwest-southeast and at a right angle to the road. It is a single storey with attics. The southwest elevation features two 20th-century casement windows, a thatched porch, and two casement windows in eyebrow dormers. Little of the original timber framing is visible internally. The brickwork of the chimney stack has been much altered, although the mantel beam is original. A 1½-storey lean-to extension runs along the entire northeast side of the house. This extension is of 20th-century design and dominates the view from that side; it is not visible from the southwest. Internally, the overall effect is of a 20th-century design.
