Description

Attridges Farmhouse is an early 16th-century house that has been altered in the 17th century, with a 20th-century extension. It is timber-framed, with plaster on the walls and a tiled roof. The house has 4 bays aligned roughly east to west, with a ground-floor room comprising 2 bays in the middle. A brick chimney stack is located at the east end of this room. A 20th-century extension sits at the rear of the west end. The house is two storeys high and has a 5-window front featuring 20th-century casement windows. A 20th-century, hipped and tiled porch provides access. The roof is half-hipped at both ends and originally constructed using crownpost methods, later converted to clasped purlins in the 17th century. The house features jowled storey posts and stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
