Description

Apple Tree Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century or earlier, with later additions and alterations. It has a T-shaped layout at a crossroads. The house is timber-framed and plastered, with 20th-century pargeting. The roof is red plain tiles, hipped on the right side of the frontage facing Dunmow Road. It is two storeys high, with a 2:1:3 window arrangement to the first floor and a 3:1:2 window range to the ground floor of the 17th-century section, featuring square C20 leaded casements. A gabled, enclosed 20th-century porch with a board door faces Stebbing Road. There are two red brick chimney stacks.
